What made me excited to wake up every morning in Italy was knowing that I would start my day with a cup of espresso topped with hot, foamed and frothy milk. I’m usually an espresso or americano (with less water) kind of girl, but in Italy, I was all for the Cappuccinos.

At our hotel in Florence, I went back to the kitchen one morning to watch one of the signorinas prepare my coffee. She welcomed me in and exclaimed, “fantastico!” when I asked if I could watch.

When it comes to coffee, the Italians know best! Cappuccinos are only for the mornings, and are usually enjoyed standing up at the bar with a sweet pastry. Buonissimo!
