I was not born with a green thumb but everyone else in my family was. While they share photos and bond over what their gardens have produced each season, I can only relate by finding the joy in cooking and eating our homegrown produce. When I was in Penang I spent some time with my aunt in her garden and got to see what she was growing. She proudly showed me her organic vegetable garden, which was growing Okra, Curry Leaves, lettuce, Bok Choy, and much more! To make use of the steep terrain in her backyard, she created a terrace garden inspired by her Indonesian friend. I had never seen a homemade terrace garden before and was very impressed with the many types of plants that she was able to grow in such close proximity!
