Mini Dumbbells

Here’s a fun appetizer that I made for some friends the other day! Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, these Thai inspired meatballs are fun to make and great for any get-together.

Mini Dumbbells

  • 80 grams of minced pork
  • 2 pieces of day old bread 
  • 1 teaspoon of light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of finely chopped coriander roots
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Lollipop sticks
  1. In a bowl add the pork, coriander roots, pepper and light soy sauce and mix until incorporated. Set it aside to rest
  2. Cut your bread into small cubes and set aside 
  3. Make small round balls with your pork mixture
  4. Toss the pork balls into the bread cubes. If there are spaces between the bread cubes, use your fingers to add them to the balls until they are completely covered
  5. Add the oil to a pan and heat until the oil is hot
  6. Fry the pork balls until the bread crumbs are golden ( The bread crumbs burn easily so don’t fry them for too long!)
  7. Take them out and place them on paper towels and let cool
  8. Once they are cool enough to manage, stick a pork ball to both ends of a lollipop stick
